Gems from Cavalleria Rusticana

Victor Opera Company
Mascagni: Gems from Cavalleria Rusticana

Recorded in 1913

Pietro Mascagni.

It is a general principle of opera that, if you wish to hear Pagliacci, you must sit through Cavalleria Rusticana as well, and vice versa. We’ve already heard Pagliacci as reduced to four minutes and a quarter by the Victor Opera Company; now here’s the other side of that record, proving that these two operas were already joined at the hip in 1913.
